Moving Forward with Map 1 111

Today did not go as planned, and we are sorry.
It was our first "big release" and we thought we were prepared - we weren't.
Shortly before the intended release of Squads, at 3 PM EST, all of our frontend servers dropped player connections. All of the initial signs pointed towards a DDoS attack, so we quickly reprovisioned our frontend machines under ProxyPipe protection.
As we learned throughout the day, there were a total of four different attacks against our network, all of which have to be solved in different ways. These are inherently complex issues, and although we've done our best to mitigate all of them, we cannot be certain these attacks will not work against us tomorrow.
The network, with Practice, Bunkers, and KitMap, are now back online. We will be carefully monitoring these throughout the night. Depending on how tonight goes, we plan on attempting to release Squads tomorrow at 12 PM EST, but this is not confirmed. We're aware it is not ideal to have the release on Sunday, especially on a holiday, but we feel a Sunday release is better than waiting another week. We promised Squads would be released this weekend, and we're going to try to stick to that promise.
In conclusion, we're sorry. Today's events were a perfect storm of attacks directed at all layers of our hosting stack. We strive to provide a smooth and stable experience for all players, and we're going to use everything we learned from today to help us reach that goal in the future. Thank you.
