Before I start off the post, I just want to take some time and thank you guys again for continuing to show up and play on our beta release of Practice & Bunkers.
I know we’ve been pretty quiet lately, and we apologize for that, but we’ve been working on a lot of stuff behind the scenes. We’re getting ready for our Season 1 launch which will include a stat reset for all minigames along with the release of new games as well. More information on the specific changes for each server will be posted in the coming days.
I’ve seen a lot of players asking which server is coming first; Teams or Squads. The answer to that is Squads. We want to ensure that there are no major issues when we launch Teams. Squads will be our first map that is running all of the updated code and infrastructure. We want the user experience to be seamless. We do not have a confirmed date for SOTW quite yet, but we are confident that we can release it this month.
Now… let me address the elephant in the room: “What about the cheaters!?”
This game has a lot of potential to be fun and exciting to play, like it once was in the past, but in order to do that, we have to ensure that there are as little cheaters on the network as possible. It is no surprise that a majority of the players that showed up to our pre-release on Practice were cheating, and we're aware of that. There is only so much that a server-side anticheat can do to combat every single one of these cheaters, especially when they can just log back on an alt account.
The reason we’ve gone so long without updates is because we wanted to ensure we had a way to fight this problem.
In the coming days, we will be rolling out our very own client; Lunar Client! It will include a simple anticheat, various mods and optimizations that will likely double your normal FPS. Lunar Client will be required to log onto most servers on Lunar. Depending on how many people adopt the use of the client in the first month or so, we will consider making it a requirement to join the entire network. Our team has spent the last few weeks working hard to ensure that we stop a majority of the cheaters. With that being said, it will not stop 100% of the people cheating, but we’re going to be working around the clock in order to mitigate as many attack vectors as possible. Along with the FPS boost, mods, and anticheat, we also can integrate a lot of server-side features that is only possible with a client. We will be announcing those features on the server-specific announcement.

It is not yet released, but we plan to start rolling it out in the coming days. Thank you all for the continuous support and we’re sorry it took a while to address the cheating situation. I hope we make it up to you <3.
