Hey guys, we just got done with our very first Lunar Client ban wave.

In this first wave, we managed to ban 1434 players. A list of banned users can be found below.

Since most of you thought that we did not have an anti-cheat on the client, or were not detecting your cheats, we have decided that the length of the bans on this first wave will be 3 months instead of 6 months.

We have also decided that it is in the best interest of the client and server, since both are in its early days, to sell unbans for those who got banned during the first wave only. These one-time unbans will cost $50. They will be available on the store shortly.

Again, these unbans will only be for people who got banned in the first ban wave.

1) It's $50
2) It's only for the people who were banned in the first ban wave
3) The server and client are only 3 months old. We are not at a state where we can get rid of 1,500 people without having some negative impacts.

If they come back and cheat again, then they will not be able to buy an unban and will serve out the entire ban sentence.

It makes total sense for them to offer unbans to people caught in the first wave here. Servers cost money to run amigo, especially servers like Lunar where they have quality developers & staff / administration that need to get paychecks on top of server expenses. Unbans are literally one of the only reliable forms of monetization a practice server can provide.

Think about it this way: Lunar has most of the same staff that MineHQ did, and MineHQ churned a much much higher revenue than Lunar is making right now. I'd be willing to bet Lunar's margins are pretty damn close to zero, and getting rid of a ton of players = lost revenue. Selling these unbans is 100% a good idea for them in terms of server longevity and realistic operating. Most banned players won't come back cheating again anyways

same bro my Lunar Client says banned. I never launched it in my new pc and it says "Banned" its an error from the Cient, just let the client in your background and don't touch it for like 24-48 hours. It should be fixed

0 way they will be able to sustain a constant player base without it. If they had more of a steady player-base I'd disagree but I can see where they are coming from by allowing unbans for the people banned in the first ban wave.

That’s just not true. People are more motivated to play when there are no cheaters. All this does is replace cheating players with those who will want to play more without them. It’s a cash grab.

There are SO MANY more ways that we can make the server a "cash grab" if we wanted to... lol

A lot of people were cheating because they thought we did not have an anticheat since we said nothing about that since the client came out.

We're the one of the only non pay to win servers out right now, very far from a cash grab dude.

GG, glad to see you guys carrying on the dream of trying to eliminate as many cheaters as possible. Only thing that annoys me is the number of people who are unwilling to admit that they were cheating. You wouldn't have gotten banned if you weren't detected cheating, and it is very unlikely that someone did get false banned. Even states what server you were detected on.

Is there a reason for the ban waves to be so long? Why couldn't you just have them banned as soon as they start cheating instead of letting someone cheat for a few more months.

the reason you do this so cheat developers don't have the chance to try tweaking their cheats until it works. This results in less "undetectable" cheats or it makes progress on a bypass way slower

I am for u to make money u have to somehow,but ban ppl on weekly or monthly bases,im honestly not gonna play 6 months losing to cheaters so they can be banned 6 months later.So dissapointed how long it took for this banwave u should make it atleast monthly.If u keep with this 3-6 months no1 will play
