Teams Map 8 will be releasing this Saturday (June 13th) at 3PM EST. The faction size will remain at 25-mans and the kit will be Protection 1, Sharpness 1, Power 3.
As previously mentioned, Map 8 will be an all-diamond map. With that being said, we will be adding a new feature to the game in order for fights to be more dynamic: Totems.
A Totem is a "beacon" that can be placed at any given time in order to give your faction effects. Totems will last any where from 30 to 60 seconds, however, they can also be broken very easily. They may also be adjusted as needed. More details regarding Totems:
• Totems will not have amplified potion effects (i.e Strength I, not Strength II)
• There will be a faction-wide cooldown in order to prevent the same Totem from being placed consecutively
• Factions can place multiple totems at once, however, there is a cooldown on placing the same Totem
• A colored waypoint will appear where ever a Totem is placed and will be visible to your entire faction. The waypoint's color will correlate to the potion effect's color (i.e a Strength Totem will have a red beacon beam)
• Strength, Speed, Fire Resistance, Jump Boost, Regeneration, and Resistance will be all of the enabled effects
• Tier 1 Totems can be craftable. Tier 2 Totems will last longer than the Tier 1's, however, they can only be obtained from events
• Totems will be easily breakable with a diamond pickaxe. Tier 2 Totems will have greater durability than Tier 1's.
• Totems will have a similar range to Bard (30 blocks)
This is going to be our first map trying this new feature out. There may be bugs or exploits, so we ask that you guys report them as you find them. We are also aware that we may need to nerf (or buff) Totems since we have not seen it play out in fights yet, so helpful feedback will be helpful when the map begins. A wiki explaining (and showing) exactly how Totems work will be made available shortly.
Map 8 will also have the following events: Citadel, End "Conquest" (basically an end Citadel), Nightmare (with an extremely difficult build and better loot), and Evil Mines (a mine filled with powerful mobs where loot chests reset every 4 hours).
If you are a power faction leader with a 25 man roster, please make a ticket under the "HCF" category (make sure to include your roster). I will be inviting leaders to our Telegram group chat and giving leaders who need it a temporary rank for the map.
