Season X of Lunar

As announced on Twitter, Discord, and Telegram, Season 10 of Lunar will be released on June 25th, at 1pm Eastern Time / 10am Pacific Time.

I want to start this update post by saying we owe you an apology for the lack of updates. It's been a while since we've publicly communicated our goals for Lunar and what we're actively doing to achieve them. Over the last 6+ months, we've fully revamped Practice. We think it will be in our best interest to start adapting to a more broad practice server. This means adding new ladders, events, and techniques outside the PotPvP community.


This will be the most extensive update to Practice since we first launched in 2019. We really went all out, from adding new ladders, events, and settings to updating simple aspects of the server like the scoreboard and chat messages. There are simply too many updates to include in this single post, so I've noted some of the key features below, and I'd highly recommend reading fully through them.


Thanks to Lunar Client, we've introduced a new system for players from all regions to queue from the same practice lobby. This new system will allow us to do matchmaking based on players' connection to each server. This means that instead of players joining a "Practice-East" server and always fighting on east, we will now be able to send players to the correct region for them to fight. I'd recommend reading the following paragraph to better understand how matchmaking works. You can find the list of supported regions below.

Yes, that's correct, matchmaking for Minecraft. We've replaced our old system, which was just grabbing two players and slapping them into a match, with two new matchmaking systems to have a more ping-even and fair match. Casual and Competitive queues will both have their own matchmaking system. You can read more here if you want to learn more about each system.


We’ve added 15 new ladders, to start adapting to new communities that are outside of the PotPvP community. We plan on adding more ladders, throughout Season 10. A list of the new ladders can be found below.

Techniques are single-player, skill-based practice, and they will allow you to practice specific scenarios or skills within Minecraft that you might encounter while playing other game modes. We're currently going to launch with the 5 techniques listed below; however, if they prove to gain a decent amount of traction, we'll look into adding more.

Wall Run - Practice different wall-based parkour, where you're only allowed to place wool blocks onto iron and diamond blocks to parkour your way through the map to reach the finish line. Your goal is to go from start to finish without checkpoints to see how fast you can go.

MLG Clutch - A classic, your goal is to prevent yourself from taking fall damage while falling from different heights. You can select either a water bucket, cobweb, ladder, or boat to practice preventing fall damage.

Bridge - Practice different bridging methods to go from Point A to Point B the quickest. Play around with our multiple settings to practice the different scenarios you might encounter during bedwars, skywars, or any gamemode involving speed bridging.

TnT Jump - In this technique, you practice timing TnT Jumps to see if you can make it across large gaps and land safely on the diamond bridge.

Fireball Launch - Pretty similar to TnT Jump; however, your goal is to use a fireball to launch yourself as far as possible to see if you can make it across large gaps.


We've fully revamped our event system, added 13 new events, and fully revamped the other 5 events. The new event system will now allow donors to start global events for anyone online to join. Global events will be on a 15-minute cooldown between each event (this might change at a later time). Donors can also create parties to privately host events with just their party members, without any cooldown between their events.

4Corners - Every player selects one of four corners, then at the end of the selection period, a random corner is cut out, exposing the players that selected that corner to the void. If you fall into the void, you're eliminated from the event. After each round, players can choose a new corner or stick with their current one. The event will continue until only one player remains in a corner. The last person to remain on a corner wins the event.

Race - A classic parkour race. Everyone is spawned into the same parkour course, and the first player to reach the finish line wins the event.

Thimble - At the start of each round, all players in the event jump from a platform in the sky and land in a water pit below. If you manage to land in a water block, it's then replaced with a bedrock block. However, if you miss the water block and hit a bedrock block or the outside arena, you're eliminated from the event. The event will continue until only one player is left and they successfully land in a water block.

Last Man Standing - Everyone is spawned into an arena with the same (no debuff) loadout and invisibility. Once the starting counter reaches go, it turns into an FFA, where the last person alive wins the event.

One in the Chamber - All event players are spawned into an arena and given a bow, pickaxe, and one arrow. Every player is a one-shot kill, and every kill rewards you with one arrow. However, if you miss your bow shot, you'll have to resort to your pickaxe, which takes much longer to eliminate players. The first player to 20 eliminations, or whoever has the most eliminations at the end of the time limit, wins the event.

TNT Run - Players run around a multi-layer arena as blocks disappear under their feet. If you fall to the bottom of the arena, then you're eliminated. The last player still able to run around wins the event.

Block Sumo - An FFA game mode where every event player is spawned into a sumo-styled arena with only wool blocks and five lives. Every so often, all players alive receive a random item to boost and encourage PvP. You can also gain stronger ability items every so often when they spawn on the golden block in the center of the map. If you fall into the void, then you lose a life. You can win by eliminating all other players' lives or by standing (capping) the golden block in the center of the map for 15 seconds.

Spleef - All event players are spawned into a giant spleef arena with a shovel that instantly breaks snow blocks. Your goal is to destroy the snow blocks below all other players to make them fall into the void below. The last person remaining on the platform wins the event.

Team Deathmatch - Everyone is evenly split into two different teams, blue and red. Each team will receive the same loadout. Once an opposing team member kills you, you're eliminated. Once every player from either team is eliminated, the remaining team wins the event.

Hot Potato - Each round, a small number of players are randomly selected to be the hot potato holders, or as "IT." If you're one of the players randomly chosen to be IT, then your goal is to punch (tag) another player before the timer runs out. If you're still holding the hot potato at the end of the timer, you're eliminated from the event. If you aren't a selected player and have not been tagged, then your goal is to run away or hide from all the players currently holding the hot potato so they cannot tag you. Once the number of players in the event slims down, a deathmatch will begin by teleporting all players back to the spawn point and selecting new players. This will continue until only one player is remaining, and that person is the winner of the event.

Sumo - Single elimination tournament event, where all players take turns fighting for the platform while being spectated by their peers. You win by knocking all your matchups off the platform and being the last remaining player.

Wool Shuffle - This event aims to run and stand on the correct color of wool, displayed in your hotbar and on your scoreboard before all the other blocks disappear, exposing the void at the end of the timer. If you're standing on the wrong color or don't reach the correct color in time, you'll be dropped into the void and eliminated from the event. After every round, the timer will shorten in time to increase the difficulty. The winner of the event is the last player to remain on the platform.

Blitz - All players are split into two teams, red and blue. You'll be spawned at your team's spawn point and be given a bow and one arrow. Every hit, whether with a bow shot or your fist, will result in a kill. After the time limit (5 minutes), the team with the most kills wins the event.

Stop Light - A classic children's game, also known as "Red Light, Green Light," as showcased in the Netflix show "Squid Game." The event works by starting all players on the starting line; they then get signaled to begin by "Green Light," "Go," or the green wool in their hotbar. In the "Go" phase, the player's goal is to start running to the finish line. However, randomly the "Go" phase will end, and the "Stop" phase will begin, indicated by "Red Light," "Stop," or the red wool in the player hotbar. If you're caught to be moving in the "Stop" phase, you're eliminated from the event. The "Stop" and "Go" phases will repeat until all players have been eliminated or one player has reached the finish line. You do need to keep an eye out for players in your nearby surrounding area, as they're able to punch you to make you move. The last person standing or the first to reach the finish line wins the event.

Knockout - Everyone is spawned into different spawn points on a platform with lava below. If you fall into the lava, you're eliminated; if a player knocks you into the lava, you're eliminated. The last player standing on the platform wins the event.

Deathrun - Similar to the race event, however, you can PvP and focus a lot less on the parkour aspect. Every event player is spawned in with an iron and soup loadout. If you die to another player or one of the many traps on the map, you're eliminated. The last person standing, or the first person to reach the finish line, wins the event.

2v2 Sumo - Similar to the regular sumo event, you're given a randomly selected teammate. Each team of two will take turns fighting their matchups. If you're knocked off the platform, you're eliminated from the event. However, if your teammate clutches up to and knocks the rest of the opposing team off the platform, you're relieved for the next matchup. Your goal is to hit the opposing team off the platform and be the last remaining team.

Infected - An event where a team of survivors fights against a relentless onslaught of infected players. If a survivor is killed, they switch teams. Players on the infected team are only armed with a slightly buffed kit, but they can be killed easily if a group of survivors attacks at the same time. The survivors win by remaining alive until the event timer ends, and the infected can win by killing all survivors before the event timer ends.


We've finally added the ability to solo queue into team-based tournaments. A simple run down on how it'll work: you join the game as you usually would, and you're placed into a solo queue pool. Once another solo player enters the tournament, you're both placed on a team. If the tournament starts and you don't find a teammate, then you'll simply sit out of the tournament.

Season 5 of SoupPvP will be released March 4th at 5pm EST. We’ve added a large amount of new content this season, from kits, perks to new features. I’m not going to do a full change-log this season, since there was simply too much to cover. However, below you’ll find brief descriptions of the larger updates.

General Updates

Event System Revamp & New Events:
We’ve fully revamped our event system, in hopes it’ll be far less buggy compared to the original system. In addition to this revamped system, we’ve added 7 new events to the event pool. The events will still cost credits to be hosted, and winners will still get rewards for winning. We’ve added a new event pass, which will allow donors to bypass the purchase cost of events to start them. Below is a full list of all the events we offer now, if you need more information on them I’d recommend testing them out in-game!

Battle Pass:
We’ve added a battle pass, with Daily, Weekly and Premium challenges. When you complete a challenge you’re rewarded with XP to advance your battle pass level. Each level has a custom star icon in chat, and comes with different rewards. You can find a full list of rewards by going in-game and typing /battlepass or using the NPC at spawn.

Black Market:
We’ve also added a black market this season. The black market is a shop for ‘illegal, broken or stolen goods’. From kits, ability items to regular shop items and even time-based contracts. You will need to locate the blackmarket NPC every season, as it’s hidden around the map and will move each season.

Black Market Kits:
Here you’ll be able to purchase, one-time use kits at a heavy discount. After you purchase the kit, you’ll be able to use it once regardless of death or not. You will only be able to purchase each kit in the black market once a week.

Black Market Shop:
You’re able to purchase some shop items, and various other items at a heavy discount. However, you’ll only be able to purchase them once a week. (Stats reset has been removed from the shop, and placed into the black market now)

Black Market Contracts:
These are time-based contracts, meaning once you purchase them, you only have 1 day to complete the contract. These contracts are very similar to the battle pass challenges, however this will be your way to convert CREDITS into XP to further advance your battle pass level.

Kit Updates & New Kits:
We’ve made a lot of general kit changes, from the new kit selection menu, balancing out our current kits to adding 6 new kits! I’ve listed the new kits below, as for the balances you’ll just have to play to find out.

Kit Rotation:
Kit rotation has been added back, fully revamped. For anyone who doesn’t remember kit rotation, it’s a simple way to get free kits. Every 7 days, you’ll be able to spin to receive a random kit that you don’t already have access to. You will then be able to use that kit for 7 days before you have to spin again. The revamped kit rotation system now has re-roll tokens. This means, if you have a re-roll token and don’t like the kit you were given for free or you just want another kit to use, you’re able to spin again bypassing the 7 day cool-down. Fair warning, you’re only able to use a re-roll token once every 24 hours. Re-roll tokens will only be given out as battle pass rewards, event rewards or by staff hosted events.

You can locate kit rotation inside of the updated kit selection menu, at the top left.

Skull Hunt:
Present skulls will now be placed around the map, in different locations each season. If you find a present skull, you can right click it to receive an XP reward. As of now, each skull gives 25 XP towards your battle pass. Enjoy hunting.

Storage System:
As of now, the storage system is fairly useless. For now, you’ll only be able to store, shop items and some kill streak items. We have more planned, that will make this storage system more useful. Stay tuned.

Season 4 of SoupPvP will be released tomorrow, Saturday, August 14th at 1:00 PM EST. For this season we focused on balancing kits and perks while still keeping the core gamemode, a changelog can be found below.

General Updates:
The Map has been fully reset.
Free Kit Fridays should enable and disable at the correct time.
Stats have been added to the website.
Events will now wait 5 extra seconds before starting.
Flat Arena has been added, officially. (/warp flat)
Juggernauts will have fireworks launched above their head every 5 minutes.
Bounties can only be placed on online players.
High Ground was added back to the event rotation.
Weapons should no longer take durability.
Coinflip has been added. (/coinflip)
Messages can now be toggled in /settings. (Bounty, KillStreak & Coinflip)

Kit Updates:
Shadow has been added.
Turtle has been added back to rotation.
Magican has been added back to rotation.
CopyCat won’t be fully healed after kills.
Dwarf no longer has feather falling.
Dwarf has been increased to 2750 credits.
Fisherman now has speed 1 instead of speed 2.
Fisherman now has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Grappler now has a sharpness 1 iron sword.
Grappler now has unbreaking 2 on the leggings.
Melon now has a diamond hoe, instead of a melon for its weapon.
Monk now has a reduced cooldown for its ability.
Monk now has a sharpness 3 wooden sword.
Palioxis was updated for a better pearl return system.
Phantom has had its flight time reduced.
Stomper does slightly more damage than before.
Torch replaced diamond sword with an iron sword.
Torch now has sharpness 2 on its sword.
Turtle now has unbreaking 30 on the helmet.
Turtle now has unbreaking 25 on the chestplate.
Turtle now has unbreaking 25 on the leggings.
Turtle now has unbreaking 30 on the boots.
Unicorn now has unbreaking 75 on the helmet.
Unicorn now has a reduced cooldown for its dumbjump ability.
